"A few months ago I had been experiencing pain in my lower back and legs. I began looking for a Doctor of Oriental Medicine to get acupuncture treatments. I called several places in the Treasure Valley, but I didn’t feel comfortable with what I was hearing. In fact, compared to the care and treatment I received from my past doctor in Sacramento, Calif. "I have had symptoms of Lupes for over 15 years and have had severe symptoms in the last 5 years of fatigue, pain, insomnia, loss of eye sight and overall sluggishness. I have been to at least 10 different doctors trying to get a diagnosis of what Is wrong. They put me on different medicines with terrible side affects or told me nothing was wrong, finally I got diagnosed last year with Lupes & fibramialgia. I started treatment with 2 different types of prescriptions. After 6 months my symptoms were not much different but again the side affects from the prescriptions were making me sicker so I stopped all the prescriptions.
I saw an article in the Paper saying that patients with fibromyalgia have had great results with their symptons from acupuncture. "I have gained my life back thanks to Dr. Alderman and Acupuncture. In September of 2005 I could barely walk without excruciating pain. I went to my regular doctor, who is a general practitioner, who gave me medication for pain and ran tests for gout which came back negative.
I work on my feet ten hours a day and even with pain medication I could barely stand the pain. I then went to a foot and ankle specialists who gave me a shot of cortisone and again ran test including an MRI. I had stress fractures and degeneration. The doctor recommended an ankle fusion. Seeking a second opinion, I consulted Orthopedists, who gave me another cortisone shot. He said if the shot did not help I would need surgery.
